Historic milestone in Urban Snowboarding takes place in NY

Last week, action sports history was when Red Bull sponsored the 1st ever major snowboarding competition made here in NY. Brooklyn Surfer was definitely in the house that night, while Shaun White and other international and local stars competed for 100k. Here’s an article about this historic event that was published in Transworld (the action sports wall street journal) just yesterday:

The Latitude 42 North Air Assault presented by Telemet is Hunter Mountains biggest competition of the year. This 2 day event consists of 3 events: Big air, Quarter pipe, and rail jam.

Brooklyn Surfer team riders Tyler Yager and Pablo Dawybida took 1st and 3rd place in the quarter pipe event. Tyler placed 1st with a front side rodeo 720 at a height of 11 ft and Pablo placed 3rd with a Method back side air at 9 ft out.

Hunter Mountain has stepped up their game every year for this competition, this year building the quarter pipe to a height of 22 ft. The competition was stiff and it was and honor to be on the podium with my friend and team mate Tyler, and was awesome to ride with so many other athletes for the weekend and come out 3rd in my event.
